This is strange, but for some reason, I cannot connect to vanguards home page. I have port 443 open so hotmail works. I've tried opening all the ports in shifts... 1-500, then 501 - 1000, etc....

I spoke to their IT guys, they said that the actual IP address of the server is NOT the one that the browser will point to. I'm assuming some sort of internal redirection here.... If there is a setting to drop packets that might be spoofed in my firewall, would this cause me to not get connected????

I'm not an expert on firewalls, in fact SUSE wrote my script for me, but I am familiar with some of the ipchains settings.

I have kernel 2.4.2, using an ipchains firewall.

Any suggestions would be great... TGIF

Thanks

Mike

what do you mean by can't connect to www.vanguard.com? (http://www.vanguard.com?)

Is there a certain part of the site? Or can you just not bring up any web page at all?

I went to the site and could see the main page. I am behind a firewall.

I know its wierd, but I can't get to their site at all. I shut down my firewall, and I can access it. I get the error could not resolve www.vanguard.com... (http://www.vanguard.com...)

Should I make then a trusted host or something, I'm just lost as to what to do about this one.

Thanks...
