If anyone is interested I have a PDF file which is 12 pages long that I found on the net that will get your samba setup done pretty quick.
Email me at nfallon@diligentsoftware.com and I'll email the pdf file back.

If you found it on the internet why not post the addy here? I'd feel better about that then messing around with e-mail :D

It's a PDF file and I don't know how to post it here or I would have.

OK here's the deal. I didn't remember the address the file came from so I setup a link to it. It is a PDF file that I zipped. I'm new to linux and don't know how to use the linux compression utilities yet.
Anyway, here's the link:

Just a little hint when working with the doc.
I created all of the directories, user, and group as well as the host and lmhost files stated in the doc then copied his smb.conf file and modified the IP addresses. I didn't have to use SWAT.
The author used the IP address of 192.168.0.1 as his linux box. On my system that is one of my Windows systems so I substituted that address with the address of my linux box. I can attach to the linux system from any of my Windows systems.
