Samba config problem? Not sure...

When I try to access my Linux box from Windows, I get an error saying "This account is not authorized to log in from this station." What is wrong?

I've tried it with the "hosts allow =" section commented out, and then I added this mechine's IP address, and uncommented it. Still, same error.

I reeeeeallly need to get it to work, and soon.

Did you add any users to samba

smbpasswd -a <username>

I added a user, then it said unable to open /etc/smbpasswd. Error no such file or directory. The file is there, and my username and password (encrypted) is there. What's wrong? I've never use Samba before, and I've not used Linux much. Thanks,

I changed it to share level access, and I can now see the Linux box from my Windows mechine, and see all the shares, but I can't log into any of them. I've tried everything I know to do.

I deleted my account, and readded it, and I got no errors, so that works good now.
