mandrake 7.2 setting up a simple firewall

I want to set up a simple firewall
I have mandrake 7.2 install and ext cd's
gonna make it on a old ibm p100. I put 2 nic cards in it.. both (3com 3c905a's)
eth0 works fine... but i can't get it to recognize the other... should i use a different card from the first?

i install it as a server install and it installs ftp and telnet servers... yet they don't run and are uncommneted in the /etc/inetd.conf
if i try to get the rpm off of the cd it says i need the xidentd packages which aren't on the cd...(are they named something else?)

and last of the least.. what would you suggest to use for the software to do the firewalling...something simple is all i need.

If you look around the forums, especially this one, you will find lots of suggestions for firewalls. Popular question.

I've also seen posts on setting up 2 nics, but I don't have the time right now to do the searching. They are there. I only use 1 nic, so I have no idea how to setup the second. Only from what I've read in other posts.

You may already have the answer in all the HOW-TO's installed on your system. Check out /usr/doc as you'll find megs of documentation in there.
