As a work around though, maybe you should go and get putty for the windows machine, then ssh into your linux box and do whatever you want from there... Bokkenka 01-17-2002, 06:08 PM Set up ssh, then run PuTTY on the Windows box. You'll be able to log onto the Linux box and set it all up from there. You prob'ly won't be able to do it by just browsing to the Linux box and editting a text file... The /etc/ directory shouldn't be shared, so you won't be able to get to the smbpasswd file. justlinux.com
