Are you wanting to change the reported mac address? For redhat in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ethx
add MACADDR="00:A0:A0:04:X5:X0"
for the raw command:
ifconfig eth0 hw ether 00:A0:A0:04:X5:X0
