DNS.. Can't find particular Domain?

Good morning or afternoon or whatever...

I got a DNS (Bind 8 on RH 5.2) server running at the office that acts as our primary DNS server for everyone.. It seems to work pretty well save this one Domain... "link.com"
My users can just about everything out there on the net except this domain.. I keep getting timeouts on nslookup and unknown host when I ping...

But i can telnet to a sight outside of work and nslookup link.com and it spits back an IP addy...
Any help is apreciated...

What are you using for a hints file .. (i.e. what are your root servers ..) it rather sounds like you can't find the authorative domain server for link.com ... not sure WHY if you can hit most of the .coms out there...

Which bind 8 are you using ... There are one or two *umms* in the 8.2.2. set I'm looking at putting 9 in on my system in order to resolve a long lookup issue with certain domains and to roll in the security fixes.

What errors show in the logs for the link.com lookup? ... have you stepped up tracing on the server while doing a lookup?
