I've managed to set up a windows network between two comps simply by choosing IP names, protocols, computer name, workgroup, and disc sharing.
I dual boot linux on one of the computers and I want it to connect to the network. But it's a bit harder in linux (mandrake 8.1). I'm totally new to networking and new to linux too so I'm a bit lost. What should I do to hook up with the workgroup. Or should I use a runaround or something.
It tells me to type domain names and such, can I write whatever, dns do I need to type anything, gateway I left blank. How do I do???

Thanks!!!

Go ahead and check out the docs for SAMBA on linuxdoc.org. I have found it best to refer people new to networking to the visual aid of a document on this matter.

I will give you this reassuring comment: it is much easier then you think. :)
