Hey everyone,
I'm running a Samba server over RedHat 7.1 to administer a computer lab with both RH7.1 and Win2k machines. Everything is running great. The Linux server does all the authentication and file serving.
Recently we added group access (before everyone was just 'users') to subdivide our projects. On the Linux side, this works great, and if you are looking at a Unix file from Win2k, you see the group and owner permissions.
However, we have a few files that are stored on Win2k machines that we would like to make available to certain groups only. But when I go to these files to add permissions, I can see all the Samba users, but none of the groups.
Is there a way to pass the Unix group info(on the PDC) to the Windows machines?
Thanks,
AC
