I am a grad student.I have an insti mail a/c which won't suffice for my purposes. I have penguin box hapily up with PIII 850/128MB RAM with 15 GB hard disk.I am running Red hat linux 7.2 with the latest kernel.

Now my problem is I want to direct all my mails to my server i.e., to my machine from my insti account. I can send mails from my machine, but I am unable to receive mails. It just says that there is no such machine.

Do I have tell my sysad to list my machine as a server.

Rest every thing is fine like ftp, telnet and http servers.Only problem is I am unable to receive mails.

Thanx in advance

I'm not sure if I understand you. Is your computer a server or desktop? If it is a server you could use "fetchmail". Very easy to set up. Check out the HOWTO at www.linuxdoc.org (http://www.linuxdoc.org) .

If you are just trying to use it as a desktop to collect your e-mail you should configure a mail client to collect it like netscape or mutt.

If I am way off base you need to give more info.
