Dialup troubles

I am now having dialup troubles...everything was working ie...I was masq. w/Linux and my windows boxes could surf and all that good stuff...

Then I restarted the linux box...and I can connect to my ISP via the linux box. But I cant surf...even from the linux box...I try to telnet to a machine and it just sits there...no action from the modem?

so I removed IPchains and PMfirewall from my startup services...and still cant do anything from Linux...this is very frustrating...

Can someone help me?

can you ping outside your box? I would do a tcpdump and then try a telnet or something to see what happens.

I will try the tcpdump...

I cang ping anywhere on the net...I can ping my local network just fine...nothing external...

I am happy to say that I got my dialup/sharing working again...it took a few hours of reading, but finally got it working...for now at least...

now I just got to work on the demand dialing...

I will say that linux offers allot of control over the system, unfortunately until they can offer a pretty package, that sets up easily...it wont find it's way into mainstream...
