BIND newbie

I am trying to run my BIND 9.1.3 on my RedHat 7.2. I installed the RPM BIND packages.


1.I did a /usr/sbin/named to load my BIND
2. Then check the /var/log.messages for errors.

I got an error messages that says: couldn't open pid file "/var/run/named/named.pid": Permission denied.

I am running as a ROOT user.

Can someone help me out.

Have you verified that the pid file is there?
If so move it as root and try again.
