Very very newbie here. I believe I have achieved some success. Samba is running. when I type "samba status" I get
smbd (pid 1674) is running
nmbd (pid 1679) is running
when I type "smbclient -L server1" i get:
addad interface ip=192.168.131.165 bcast=192.168.131.255 nmask=255.255.255.0. Got a positive name query response from 192.168.131.1 (192.168.131.1)
password:
when I hit enter at the password prompt I get anonymous login successful. It lists the domain OS and Server.
Under sharename Type and Comment, I get error returning browse list:ERRDOS - ERRnoaccess(Access denied). Then under SERVER and Comment, it lists all the computers on the network. but when I run smbclient //server1/work I cannot view or browse the share I get the same error as above. Please point me in the right direction. Thanks very much
