FA311 quiestions

I have installed Mandrake 7.2. Since then, I have attemtped through my utmost powers to get my Netgear FA311 card to work. I looked it up in deja (wasn't too helpful) then I came here and tried to follow all the sugestions. No matter what I try, neither the Scyld natsemi module nor the one that came with the card will compile. I tried gcc -v and it said it was 2.92 and a preversion or something. Does anyone know anything about the gcc in Mandrake 7.2?

You better return your Netgear 311 NIC card. I had one and it gave me too many problems trying to get it to work in Linux (using Corel). I got a NIC card based on the DEC chipset. I tried the same stuff you are trying but I was never able to get it working.
Its a great nic card under windows but you can forget it under linux.
