Linux Networking Questions

Hey,
I am looking to buy a Dell PC, at Christmas, and will have RedHat 6.1 installed on it, I would like to be able to network it to my other PC, which will be running Win98 SE. So far, I've got one ethernet card, and I've been looking around the linux sites for some help on how I configure/set it all up.

I would like the Win98 pc to be able to access the internet through the linux box, and I believe I'd have to use ip masqurading for this? Also, because I'm using a 56k modem, I would like diald to start up whenever the Win98 pc needed the internet.

...one last thing, I've had advice that I should have a seperate linux box as a dedicated firewall, running ipchains etc. (I'd also use portsentry on it), theres a shop near me selling a 486 for something in the region of £10 ... http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/wink.gif what do you all think?
