once upon a time I accidentally pulled the power on my system forcing me to reboot and run e2fsck on my file system. In the process I knackered my GRUB bootloader(how I do not know) and was left booting my system (RH7.2) from a floppy.
Time passed...
THEN I ran LILO, installed it and all was well.
How?? Well,
as root I renamed 'lilo.conf.anaconda' to lilo.conf(this file is in /etc ). You need this file to be present here.
I then entered /sbin and ran the command ./lilo
nervously (as us newbs do) I rebooted and LO! I was presented with a dodgy graphic screen and a floppy-less boot all new and lovely!!
