Woot! Woot!! Woot!!!
I'm printing in linux!! Woot!! Woot!!
Ok, so heres the thing....
Running Slackware 8.0, on a dual PIII-650 box, networked printer and kde 3.0 .
I downloaded the Slackware CUPS Package from http://www.linuxpackages.net and I installed that. Once I had the cups daemon running (/usr/sbin/cupsd &) I went to the printer manager in KDE's control panel and I selected CUPS as my Print System. Then clicked the button to add a new printer. I chose network (cause thats how I am connected to it!) added the info and walalala!! I'm printing in Linux. Didn't use a driver, just using the raw post script. Now if I can do this at home and get my printer/scanner/copier thing that my wife bought working properly (its usb, and if I can't make it scan, then there's no point!) then I think I will boot in to linux for a while...
