I have recently been using redhat 7.1 with alot of luck and samba 2.2 Once I upgraded to Redhat 7.2 on SMP with RAID and ext3 I have had nothing but problems so I downloaded TurboLinux Server 6.5 and found it the easiest linux server install ever. I have isntalled on a P2-300 with 1 4gig ide drive and an agp video card, no problems. I have put in on a Quad Xeon 400 with 4gigs ram, and 12 hard drives on a 3 channel compaq raid controller, no problems. mY standard install is "Choose Everything", configure my XWindows, partition and boot. I then install webmin (webmin.com), add users, set my workgroup, then add unix users to samba. 10 out of 10 times the box is on the network, my Samba setup is done in about 10 minutes. I just replaced a nt server with samba and TL6.5, and have had it up for weeks, I ssh in and do my admin in my bathrobe while watching TV. Try TL6.5, I love it. :D
