Technical Writing 101
The first time I tried this I had to make a paper airplane and write instructions so anyone could read the instructions and come up with the same exact plane.
Lets see you make a better man shoelaces document. Or at least submit bugs you may find. Except spelling errors.

I grasp the shoe laces, the left lace with the left hand, and the right lace
with the right hand and pull them straight up and tight. I pull the laces
across the shoe to the opposite side. I then thread one lace under the other
into the triangle shaped opening beneath the laces. I grab both laces and pull
them in opposite directions away from and perpendicular to the shoe. Now
looking down at the shoe I place my left index finger at the point of the
crossing of the laces and push down on the laces to hold them to the top of my
shoe. I then extend my left thumb parallel to my shoe and wrap the right lace
over my left thumb and pull it down to the point where my left index finger is.

Now I grab both ends of the right lace loop with my right index finger and thumb
and remove my left thumb from the loop in the right lace and also remove my
left index finger and use my right thumb to hold the laces to the top of my shoe.
Now I wrap the left lace around my right thumb and continue around the right
lace. On the other side of the right lace I use my right index finger to push
the left lace through the opening between the right lace loop and the left lace
which is wrapped over my right thumb. I then grab the left lace with my left
thumb and index finger and release the left lace from my right thumb and holding
the left loop and right loop in respective hands pull to tighten the knot.

Thanks, I've been wanting to find that out for years. No longer will I have to wonder the streets with my laces undone or have to avoid the embarrasment of not knowing by wearing slip-on's!

Now I grab both ends

I hope this new version clears up the confusion. Thanks for the input.

man shoelaces 1.0.1
I grasp the shoe laces, the left lace with the left hand, and the right lace with the right hand and pull them straight up and tight. I pull the laces across the shoe to the opposite side. I then thread one lace under the other into the triangle shaped opening beneath the laces. I grab both laces and pull them in opposite directions away from and perpendicular to the shoe. Now
looking down at the shoe I place my left index finger at the point of the crossing of the laces and push down on the laces to hold them to the top of my shoe. I then extend my left thumb parallel to my shoe and wrap the right lace over my left thumb and pull it down to the point where my left index finger is.

Now I grab both sides of the right lace loop, at the point closest to the shoe, with my right index finger and thumb. I remove my left thumb from the loop in the right lace and also remove my left index finger from the top of my shoe and replace it with my right thumb to hold the laces in place. Now I wrap the left lace around my right thumb and continue around the right lace loop. On the other side of the right lace loop I use my right index finger to push the left lace through the opening between the right lace loop and my right thumb, creating the beginning of the left lace loop. I then slip my right thumb out of the knot and pinch the left lace loop between my right thumb and right index finger and grab the right lace loop with my left index finger and thumb (the left lace loop is now held in the right hand and the right lace loop with the left hand). Now I simply pull the two loops tight. Using the index finger inserted into the loops I adjust the loops to the proper size, making sure the laces will not touch the floor thereby creating a tripping hazard.
