As I mentioned earlier, I abandoned RedHat 7.1 due to the fact it hated large hard drives and could not co-exist with Windows XP, in addition to requiring a ton of extra (and undocumented) steps to get acceleration functional. Linux-Mandrake 8.1 *did* fix one of the problems (DRI works out of the box).

My trusty (and far from rusty) ATI All In Wonder Radeon is cranking up some extremely decent numbers in glxgears (over 800 fps!), and TuxRacer looks *gorgeous* to say the least. Even KDE looks better with the acceleration turned on!

Now, if only I could get it and XP to get along (but I have some ideas on that).
