For anyone interested in how to install paride on a notebook where there is no CDRom, PLIP doesn't work, PC card doesn't work, and FTP is simply way too slow, try this....Log on to LSL and purchase the Redhat 7.0 CD's for elcheapos ($3.78 + s/h). Then, log onto DirtCheap Drives for a parallel box for a CDrom (around $60-70). When you get these two items, connect your CDRom, copy the boot.img and paride.img to two floppies, then reboot. Works like a charm. STAY AWAY FROM MICROSOLUTIONS backpacks for install. They don't work and aren't worth the money you paid for them (I gave $166 for one with sound). After trying for over 3 weeks, I have completed the install and this is my very first message posted with RH70 running Gnome. http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

hey, maybe you should set up a webpage and submit it to the linux laptops homepage. http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif

Sounds like the meat for a NHF there. Perhaps you should write one and post it?
