I too am trying to price compare for some Sun equipment. I want just a simple box that I can run as a server for my home network with the Solaris 8 box as the server. I am confused however on which Sun workstation I should concentrate on buying Ultra 1 ,Ultra 5 ,or something else that would be cheap enough to get the job done on a from home network. If anybody has an idea just reply. :confused:

Really it all depends upon what you want to do. An Ultra 5 will be fairly expensive but and Ultra 1 should be fairly affordable. I'm running an Ultra 1 hosting sites at home and it works great. It's a 170Mhz with 400MB ram. It really depends upon what you want the server to do.
