I have just recently stumbled into a work place where they have changed domains. One of the servers is a Pure SCO Unix server, now my question is. Now that we have ActiveDirectory up and running. Will the ADC get completely pissed off with this new addition. Or will the SCO box get pissed because there is no longer a PDC? What services will be affected by the new directory if any. I know this sounds like a newbie question but I have never delt with ADC and SCO running samba before.
Is fobot still around maybe he can help me...

I think MS got the message that people aren't giving up their Unix machines, there are services within AD to have a good coexistance with Unix.
Here are some Services that Windows has to coexist with the Unix environment.
you can install the following services on the windows box.
Server for NFS
Client for NFS
Gateway for NFS
User Name Mapping.
Also SFU: that provides password synchronization. Password sync is a mirror of what is on the Unix machine
You can also install NIS on the domain controller. Then use the Migration Wizard to populate Active Directory and provide a fully redundant and replicated master NIS server for the directory. There can only be one master NIS server. Any domain controller in active directory can be a subordinate NIS server to an AD based master. Windows domain Controllers can't be slaves to the Unix environment.
Basically if you let the AD know that there are Unix machines and install services neither box should get pissed.
