(http://www.beosonline.com/index.php?seite=Download) S0larfluX 03-24-2002, 06:43 PM Nice! Thanks for the link, I will have to try it out again. I always did like BeOS, but the lack of software caused some boredom... They did have some good basic stuff, hopefully now they have more! It's perfect for a laptop, which I haven't tried to put it on, yet. I wonder if it can be installed with vmware... btberch 03-25-2002, 09:41 PM Another article to look at: osnews (http://www.osnews.com/story.php?news_id=811) HelicalCynic 03-25-2002, 10:12 PM Check out www.openbeos.org (http://www.openbeos.org) if you want to help keep BeOS (in its open source incarnation, OpenBeOS) alive longer! thedexman 03-26-2002, 07:22 PM Whizzard, THANK YOU!!! jkm 03-26-2002, 09:45 PM ironically, i was looking for just this earlier today. many thanks. i am more interesting in openbeos though, which aims to be a complete reimplementation of BeOS. sasKuatch 04-20-2002, 12:58 PM schw33t! i'll have to get it, thanx Jomboni 04-20-2002, 01:29 PM I'm gonna try this out! 5.0 didn't support my video card and I didn't really feel like messing around with it in a 640x480 greyscale mode.... foppa 04-27-2002, 05:16 AM This is some good news! BeOS was the OS I enjoyed using the most during the short time I had it installed. It didn't have the software I needed at the time, then it died away. Now that I've got more time (& more computers) I'll have to give it another whirl. Dr. Lucky 04-27-2002, 05:25 PM what is so great about BeOS? all I know is that i is supposedly good for A/V stuff, but Linux does all that fine. I also read there is no intention to have DVD support. In an OS internded for A/V-type stuff, what is up with that? -Dr Lucky snailgod 04-28-2002, 04:38 PM Is there a hardware compatibility list? The last version of BeOS I tried wouldn't accept my video card or network card. Also, is there an installer for Linux or FreeBSD? I'm on 28k and would prefer not to download a big iso. RTFM 04-28-2002, 10:56 PM http://hardware.frizbe.net/ Dr. Lucky 05-03-2002, 11:56 PM the company just went under.... i wonder, what will palm do with the OS? -Dr Lucky mcmanus69 05-04-2002, 02:55 AM Originally posted by The Whizzard: <STRONG>Aparently not.
