BeOS and my winmodem

I have a LT winmodem, which according to the docs is recognized by BeOS. In the Dial-up Connection (or whatever it is) preferences app, I set the modem to Lucent -> PCI v.90, which is what my modem is. I enter the phone number, etc. for my ISP and tell it to dial. Eventually, it gives up, saying "No carrier detected". Works fine under Windows.

Hmm... I'm not sure why that's happening but perhaps try not specifying your modem. Leave it unspecified. My modem is nowhere to be found in the list of choices so I just left that as "pick your modem" and it works just fine.
