building a BeOS box

i want to use a SuperMicro P6SLS motherboard to build a BeOS box, the chipset 440LX chipset is list as compatible
it has built in scsi controller that is listed as compatible

any body know some reason NOT to use this?

i will put in a IBM Ultrastar 2XP 4.5 GB hd

have to figure the rest out later

Yes, you need to send this hardware to me so I can use it. :D

BEOS doesn't like my WD hardrive or I would be running that too.

i found the mobo on pricewatch for only $45, a stand alone 2940uw controller card costs more than that , so i said "hey dummy, instead of adding a controller to another box, why not try that mobo in a seperate box"

i know a place that has those hd (used) for only $30

so i am hoping to get the total cost for this box in under $300 :)

ps www.cheapbytes.com (http://www.cheapbytes.com) has BeOS pro + the BeOS bible for $75

is there a better deal somewhere? or should i go for that? i think a book is always good when starting out, so i think it is a good deal :)

They currently have it listed for $60

Hey go to your local bestbuy I saw the BeOS combo there for $58 I think thats the best deal I have seen. Especially since I have seen the Bible for $40

I would check out bestbuy, I saw it in the local one here for $53.
