I have been given a old mac IIcx i only have a built in floppy drive and no internet connection currently. i really dont know what is installed on it or how big the hard drive is because right now i dont have a monitor or any keyboard or mouse or anything yet. i was just wondering if i could install linux on it and how would it run? what distro would i use and could i get XWindows? the spects for the box is located here: http://www.info.apple.com/info.apple.com/applespec/applespec.taf?RID=10
please let me know. i want to use this box to learn more about concile mode of linux and maybe XWindows (if it will run) I know some about linux on a pc but nothing about a mac. please let me know. thanks

I do not know of any IIcx compatable distros.
I was thinking of MKlinux as it has support for machines that Linux PPC doesn't, but it only works on machines with nubus or PCI.
you might be out of luck.

might be of some help to you.
Can't find a DL page or anything, but does have compatability for the IIcx
