I figured id put it in here...
Is it possible to network games or just even file share between linux and a mac? if so, can you play games like myth,2, ut or q3?

linux can serve afp volumes (appletalk) and process papsrv printjobs... there are two major solutions for this: helios ethershare (about $12k CDN) or netatalk (free). give it a shot and tell me how the install goes...

You might also want to try using Samba on the Linux and Dave on the Mac (it isn't free, but, you can always find a serial if you try hard enough, however, it is an excellent program).

Samba is about 100 times easier to set up and use than netatalk, Dave has it's own wizard.

If your running OS X.2, you don't need to buy Dave. I'm pretty sure OS X can run SMB.
