HP USB Printer, can it work?

Hello again, with my internet problems solved (thanks to all who responded) I can move on to a new confusion; making my printer work. I have a HP Deskjet 970 cxi that is hooked to my Mac by USB. I tried the printer config in Linux PPC but it had no mention of USB as a form of interconnect. Is there another config I need to go to?
As always, any help is greatly appreciated!
