Hi all,

As root, I chose to 'Move existing desktop icons to Nautilus Desktop' while using the KDE window manager. Since then, I can no longer use KDE as root, but I can use it as any other user, or GNOME as root. Every time KDE reaches the first 'Loading the Desktop' it freezes and I have to reboot. How can I undo my change, or fix the problem otherwise (short of reinstalling)?

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Well there's really no need to run X as root, but if you really want to and you don't have too many customisations you could always delete .kde dir from /root and see if that works. shoud ax all your settings for kde for the root user.

Thanks. I saw this directory and figured as much but the files inside didn't seem to have anything to do with the setting I changed. I removed the directory and got in. Thanks again.
