Well, I know the last thread isn't too long ago. Anyway, I just refurbished my desktop to make it look like this (http://www.nord-com.net/goedeke/screenshot.jpeg).
The wm is fvwm2 and I have xawtv, mozilla, xmms and bclock (bottom right) running along with some iconified apps. Lots of penguins ;), I know but I really like the tux icon set.
The really amazing thing: fvwm2 occupies 1476KB memory

What you have to do is run winamp using wine instead of xmms. Works great (just tested it). That would create the 100% loozer desktop :p

Running IE through wine in Slack 7.1 with a 2.16 kernel I had nothing but problems. The tool bar wouldn't show correctly, the program kept stalling and crashing X on me.

I think Geocities has a policy of not letting you link to a specific file on your web page. Look on your admin page - it says it there where pagebuilder is. The way I got around it was to link to the whole page. (See my post above) The screen comes up smaller, but you can right-click on it to "View Image" and then you get the fullscreen screenshot. That worked for me. If anyone has a better way, I'm open to suggestions.

BTW you have to have imagemagick installed for this to work. There are tons of other screenshot programs. Search freshmeat for those. You'll will also find applets for various windowmanagers to do screenshots. The Gimp has a screenshot function, too.

yeah. those are eterms. unfortunately the version of icewm i'm running doesn't support the transparency. so i use Esetroot for my backgrounds and everything works.
i believe more current versions of icewm support transparency without having to use Esetroot.

Hey Soulman, I smell what you're cookin'. I also find busy backgrounds and themes tiresome. That is a clean and well integrated desktop. Good design!
