Not a big deal, but why wont my Gnome weather applet run anymore? When I put it in the panel, it just displays a ? mark. I cant right click on it either. Its always worked fine, what would cause it to stop?
One more question: Why does my computer seem to use so much memory? When I run gtop my memory usage is always almost full--even at startup. It has never used the swap memory either--is something wrong in my system? BTW--man 7.2 , athlon 750, 192 mb RAM

Nothing wrong with your system (except Gnome weather) as Linux uses available memory for caching etc. and releases the memory when needed elsewhere.
This was actually covered not too long ago in quite a long thread in General.
Never heard of Gnome weather (not a Gnome user).

Ok, at least I know my memory is ok, but is there anyway to get my gnome weather working again? I thought it was kinda cool and I actually want it back. Is there a way to reinstall it?

Hmm, usually the question mark means that it's retrieving the data from a server. In case the server is down it might take several tries until the applet gives up. Mine works fine, though, and I'm using the default server.
You should be able to interact with it eventually. How long did you wait? Maybe the applet just died. Try and start a second instance and see if you can set the properties for that one.
Gnome-weather rocks :D

Thanks for the thread!
Didn't know that the applet existed (haven't played with the applets much, other than the odometer).
It even had my little hole in the wall location in it! :D

Yea I have had it stuck in a ? mark waiting for a server, but now I cant even right-click it at all. Its like its not there--I cant move it or right-click and click update like I usually do. Yes gnome-weather does rock BTW--5-day forecast from my desktop--great applet
On another subject---how can I get gkrellm to run all the time w/o leaving the program box open at the bottom? Like when I see some desktop screenshots of others comps, I see it running w/o anything on the bottom--can I do this?

got gnome weather back---just did a reboot and it worked again...
But, can anyone tell me how to have gkrellm run w/o having an open program at the bottom? I've seen screen shots where people have gkrellm on them, but it is not shown at bottom(quick launch things). How can I do this?
