I've had kde 2.1.1 installed for a while and It works great and it installed fairly beautifuly in caldera2.4. I say "fairly" because my loging screen still uses the original login screen as before I installed kde2.1.1. Shouldn't there have been an update for that... and when i remove kdebase i can't log in... also kcontrol in kde2.1.1 doesn't affect anything... I have to open the old kcontrol from the previous version. currently i have blackbox, kde, and kde2 in my kdm login box... how do i have it so that I only have kde2 and blackbox?

I want kde2 to replace my old version of kde, so please don't respond by saying, "go into kcontrol and under application, login manager, sessions and under "new type" and remove kde.

I installed my version of kde2.1.1 by installing kde2 rpms... then the kde2.1 rpms... the command i used was rpm -Uvh filename.

thanks for the help.

Sorry I don't have the answer for you.

There is a Caldera Users Group (http://www.mail-archive.com/users%40lists.calderasystems.com/) that may be of some help.
