I'm probably the newest Linux user here in this forum. I recently installed Red Hat Linux 7.0 on my computer and just today got XWindows (is that what's it's called?) working. I started out in the GNOME environment, then switched to KDE, then back to GNOME. Then I thought I'd see what the last option, TWM, looked like. Now I'm stuck with the TWM environment and I can't seem to find a way to change back to GNOME. Can someone please respond with simple, step-by-step instructions on how to get back into GNOME?

Thank you very much!

hehehe.... :cool:TWM  Now what's a newbie like you doing with TWM? It's not exactly the fanciest WM around :p
I think what you're looking for is in your /home/user/.xinitrc file, or your /home/user/.xsession file. If either of those two exist, edit them and see what they say. If it has anything to do with twm, replace it with "gnome-session". I believe that the path should be /usr/bin/gnome-session. You might benefit from doing a forum search on this topic, as I think I've seen it asked before both here and under General Linux Questions.

Yah lol TWM sux. You can't do anything in it. Whatchu gotta do now is make a .xinitrc file in your home directory. Actually it's more nifty that way cause with that file you can specify programs that'll start up with your gui. Mine looks like dis:
:/usr/bin/enlightenment
:xset m 4 &
and dat's it
