Basically, Ximian gnome is a "distribution" of gnome. They are the ones developing Red Carpet, Evolution, Gnumeric and a couple of other packages to improve on what the Gnome project has done. I hope that makes sense. Molecule Man 04-05-2001, 10:46 AM More precisely, Ximian (formerly Helix Code) is a for profit company founded by Miguel de Icaza, one of the primary developers for GNOME. They have a nifty update service (similiar to apt) if your distro is supported. More can be found at www.ximian.com (http://www.ximian.com) forrest 04-08-2001, 07:02 PM but i _have_ apt :) bdg1983 04-11-2001, 07:20 AM Thanks for the info, guys. That cleared things a lot. :) I also have apt! :D Tyr-7BE 04-11-2001, 09:56 AM Ximian is slick :D Molecule Man 04-12-2001, 03:48 PM If you do have apt, then you can still go to Ximian (http://www.ximian.com) to add them to your apt list. justlinux.com
