OK, I'm sure that I've just overlooked something obvious, but I'm running out of ideas. I had kmail set up once before on the now-dead box & am trying to get it up & running on the new machine. Same ISP (@Home), same distro (Mandrake 7.1), it connects to the net, but kmail's giving me grief. Here's what the settings look like:
Name: <me>
Organization: <blank>
Email Address: mailbox@domain.com
Reply-To Address: <same>
Signature File: </home/me/sig>
[Sending Mail = SMTP]
Server: mail
Port: 25
[Incoming Mail = Pop Account]
Name: <mailbox>
Login: <mailbox>
Password: <password>
Host: mail
Port: 110
[Set to Delete & Retrieve all mail from server. Store new messages in account Inbox]
When I try to send or receive, I get the following:
Pop Mail Network Error:
Account <name> is OPEN
'The server not found' error
Now, I've checked with @home as best I can (they only support Outlook Express for Win & Netscape Mail for Mac) & the port settings, etc. are what they specify. I checked the LNO archives & NHF's, but no dice; I guess I'm the only one dim enough to have a problem with this. Any ideas?
