Hello,
I am running Debian 2.1 with X windows 4.0
After running xf86config, for the first time, I attempted to run X. What happened was it began to bring up the GUI, but stopped when the mouse and background had been loaded, no icons. I let it pause for a few mins with no HDD activity. ctrl-alt-bksp revealed this error at the bottom:
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb/xkbcomp: error in loading shared libraries
libXext.so.6 cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Couldn't load XKB keymap, falling back to pre-XKB keymap
My XF86Config file is configured for a standard pc104 english keyboard. I also tried 101.
If any of you could provide assistance, it would be most appreciated. Thank you for your time.
