Window Maker and Users

Greetings all,

Been lurking for awhile, and trying to learn by osmosis. So far so good, however, I've run into ... well something that has gotten me confused.

I used to be a KDE user (and a Newbie at that) and always run a term with TOP, just so I can keep an eye on things. Anyway it always listed 1 User.

Now after (trying) to make the transition to WM, when running TOP it list a minimum of 2 Users. I just can't figure it. Further each and everytime I open a term I get another user, this also happens when running Netscape. What is happening? Is this bad? Or what?

I am sorry if I have left anything out. But I just can't figure it.

I don't know the answer to that. But, now that your are in windowmaker territory, you can chuck that xterm with top and start grabbin' dock apps! They change everything, and make monitoring fun again. Or, grab gkrellm (it might already be on your distro). It can monitor everything for you, and look good too. thats because XTerm will essentially "login" for you all over again. Dont worry about it. Its normal.
