I was wondering if there is any way to put restrictions on who sees what in the Gnome programs menu?
For example, I only want root to see some of the configuration utilites, and my Postgres user to see PostgreSQL utilities.
Can this be done? If so, how?
Thanks,

Hmm.. Well, I noticed on my RH7 box that when I'm logged in as root I can see many more icons in the "system" menu. This leads me to believe that it is possible.. How to do it though I do not know.

I would imagine that GNOME has desktop settings in each users home directory, and that it could be controlled from there. I would also guess that GNOME has a default menu which any new user would see somewhere in its configuration.
Or you could also (as root) remove the config links from the menu and just remember the commands for them like everybody else does :)
