Finally got this installed last night, everything was working great. I entered Gnome a few times without any problems and am Impressed with the new changes.
Now, after a while of entering and leaving Gnome, I Started Gnome and was given an error about not being able to load the Panel...I had two options, OK and ignore or send bug report. Great, my internet wasn't up yet so I couldn't send the bug report and hit ok. Gnome loaded...WITHOUT THE PANEL!!

Now what do I do? This was under root (I was woring on setting up the network) and any other user can login and get the panel, but root doesn't have it! What do I need to edit to reset this glitch?

So nobody has a clue on this either, eh? It happened again under one of the users and I sent in a bug report on it. If anyone wants to know the bug ID #, let me know and I'll pass it out.

Still need to figure out how to reset Gnome so the panel will try to load again...

Hi - I'm a total Linux newbie - just managed to get RedHat 7.2 to run after all the partition stuff and so on. I have two main questions if anyone here is able to help me.

1) I am running gnome (I think) and I need to change some of the settings on my Voodoo3 card as it looks a little odd on the screen. In win 98 I would normally change the adapter refresh rate. Anyone got any ideas ?

2) How the hell do you download files from web pages (as opposed to nothing happening when you click on them?)

Cheers !!!

mahdi: I have had the same thing happen to me. 7.2 w/gnome ran fine for a couple of days then Sunday I restarted and it gave me the panel error. 1545 (segmentation fault)or something like that. The only way I have found around it is when it happens...reboot and log in as root. After I log in as root and it is fine, I log in as my normal user id and gnome usually does not give me any probs. I am a newbie too, so I don't know how to troubleshoot this problem. Just letting you know you're not alone. :)

That's good news, I didn't send in a bogus bug report that only happens to me :)

But it was gone, all the profiles lost it after about 3 logins or so (I boot to text then startx from the CLI)...I'll find the link for the report an post it here
