I have SuSE 6.0 installed, and I compiled my kernel to get the sound working. It will play CDs and .wav files just fine, but I get a bunch of staticy crap anytime I try to use x11amp to try and play MP3s. Any ideas?

FamMan 05-24-1999, 12:56 AM I use MPG123 to play my mp3's. in an xterm window go to the dir where your mp3's are and type: mpg123 *.mp3. It's not as pretty as the GUI stuff but it works great. You can even set a buffer size. I do this: mpg123 -b 1024 *.mp3 So now I have a 1meg buffer for my mp3s. When I am bringing up netscape or whatever it doesn't skip. Check out these places for mp3 players. http://www.freshmeat.net http://www.linuxberg.com justlinux.com
