how do you stop kde from recreating desktop icons?

i don't want the icons for the cdrom and floppy to appear on my desktop. if i delete the icons and restart kde, they will reappear. how do i stop this? (im using kde 2.1.1)

If you're using Mandrake or similar, on logout, you can check the Restore Session box. When you restart your session, the desktop should be exactly as you left it.
