I know... probably one of the most simple questions but my mind has opted to call for help. I have a Compaq Armada 1700 running Red Hat 6.1. My desktop is Gnome, and is configured for 800x600 with 16bit. It will support 1024x768 at 16 bit... how do I cahnge it?

in console (I'm assuming this works with RH) Type in "xf86cfg". if that doesn't work you might have an older version of XFree86 in which case you would type in "XF86Setup". I hope that works!
