OK, I love WindowMaker, but it's got a function that annoys the bajeezus out of me -
I multitask. A lot. Which means I've often got several Mozilla, file sharing, IRC, graphics, etc windows going and loading at any given time , and what the thing does is whenever one window, oh say completes loading a web page, WM will automatically pop up that window whether I want to see it or not. (Windows does this too BTW and it drives me batty there too).
On more than a couple occassions it has done this with perfect time if just as my finger was about to hit to mouse button on the Close button - bringing the wrong window to focus just in time for me to close the WRONG window.
Is there any way to turn this annoying "feature" off???

I feel your pain, brother...

In WPrefs, select "Window focus preferences" and uncheck "automatically focus new windows"

In wmakerconf, select "Window handling" and uncheck "Automatically give focus to a window when it is mapped"

or make sure that your ~/GNUstep/Defaults/WindowMaker file has "AutoFocus = NO" in it.

Pissed me off too when that used to happen ;)
