I'm running RedHat 7.0 with KDE 1.1.2 and would like to upgrade to the latest stable version of KDE. How do I go about that? Do I have to uninstall the version I have now before going to the new version? Can I just download the sources and it will update all of the neccesary files?
Thanks,

I just did that!!!.I downloaded the rpm packages and unpacked the packages as root and that just did fine. :)
As:
rpm -Uvh --force ........
--force had to be used to make sure the package compiles even if error messages occur.(I was running Redhat 6.2 then).

So, basically I just download the packages with the same names as the ones already installed, right? I can go into kpackage and look at the names of the packages already installed and download them, right?
Thanks for your input,

I always find reading the install instructions at www.kde.org (http://www.kde.org) to be helpful. ;)
Seriously though. I think most that have done the upgrade would have started with kde's site and then checked their distros website for anything specific.
