Video Prob upgrade fm Caldera 2.4 to 3.1

I am running Caldera 2.4 eDesktop with an SIS 300 16M Video Card and an NEC 3FGe Multisync monitor and it works with no problems. The KDE is 1.1.1 release 2.2.14 and XFree86 is 3.3.6. Now, when I go through the install for Caldera 3.1 and I put in the exact same info that I have for 2.4 and I run the test it does not work. I have selected various monitor modes, and even typical monitors instead of the NEC to no avail. I almost got it to work by selcting a different SIS video card than what I have in my system, but it fails to get back to Lizard from the test. Anybosy have any othe suggestions?

exit to the console and try typing startx > xerror.log. Have a read of that file and if that doesn't help post that file's contents here and your /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file.

Also grep "EE" /var/log/XFree86.0.log may help you too
