KDE 3.0 RC3 and Slackware 8.0?

Is there a trick to installing KDE 3.0 rc3 on slackware 8.0 using the packages that are available at kde.org?

I've removed the kde-2.2.2 files, and I have installed the latest version of QT, but when ever I try to start KDE I get an error:

Couldn't Start KDEINIT. Check Installation


Just wondering if anyone else ran in to this problem...

Are there any other errors like libpng.so.3 not found libfam not found?

Not that I am getting.

Just the could not start kdeinit
