Blackbox+kde error please help

Hiya everybody i been away for a bit work work work http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/frown.gif

but anyhow i just installed blackbox tonight on my slackware system.

and in my .xinitrc file i put the following

kfm &

kpanel &

exec blackbox

it was my understanding that this would start my kde support

but when i startx i get blackbox with only kdisknav
when i try to invoke kpanel via the CL i get the following message:
waiting for windowmanager

how can i fix this ?

I don't have a definite answer for you, but there are some docs here http://linux.nf/stepbystep.htm on Windows Managers etc. and some startup file examples I believe.
