Hi all I been trying to install KDE 2.0.1 in on my Box. I looked over the README file on the Mandrake 7.2 rpms but still no luck.
1. Download the RPMs in a folder.
2. Exit X11 then go into that folder and type "rpm -F *.rpm".
Still did work because of the old sound RPMs things in the old KDE 2.0. Could anyone help me and tell me what I did wrong?

I have no heart for I am the grinch and scrooge all in one. Bah-Humbug!
If you already have KDE installed try this:
rpm -Uvh
That is supposed to force an Update to the existing software. Just make sure you install the packages in the correct order.

I've always found there to be install documentation on kde.org or my distros website. And as mentioned, some need to be installed or upgraded in a specific order.
I would imagine Mandrake should have something about the upgrade on their website.

Something to look into Thanxs. I'll let you know what I come up with.

I installed it but two things...One of them I don't mind to much.
1. OpenGL Screen Saver don't work.
2. If I lock my workstation, I don't want to type in password.
The Screensaver stuff I don't care for, but I would like to be able to lock my workstation again. =(

Heres what you need to do...
rpm -Uvh --force --nodeps *.rpm
you'll want to install kdesupport first followed by kdelib.. you can install the rest in any order you want
