Installed Slackware 8.0 with KDE.
Problem is that I can't get into KDE with a non-root account :(

Does anyone know how to fix this?
Or maybe someone can tell me where relevant log-files are kept?
Thanks in advance!!

Why not? What error do you get?

I don't get any error...
That's the whole problem I guess :(
If I have the KDE login-screen and want to login with a non-root-account it does NOT say "Login incorrect".. it just returns to the login-screen after a few changes of the screen...

Scuba ..

check the .xdmerrors in the the user directory

2) remove any reference files to ICE or DCOP in the user directories (they're usually hidden as .ICE* and .DCOP*)

3) after that -- dcopserver errors in there for the user but not root, change the permissions of /tmp/.ICE-unix (chmod 1777 .ICE-unix)
